Reading – most famous for the yearly Reading festival, one of the biggest music festivals in the UK and less than half an hour outside of London. Just a few of the reasons so many students decide this is where they want to spend their university years.
Reading is home to over 200,000 people of which over 17,000 are students, so there is plenty around for students to do. The University of Reading is a top-rated UK university with 6 courses listed in the UK top 10 (Complete University Guide 2015) and has had its doors open for more than 150 years giving it a rich and exciting history.
Reading University has three main sites across the town, and excellent public transport connecting all three, with buses between the three campuses and town run every five minutes around the clock. No matter where you chose to live, in the town centre or on the outskirts, you will find it easy to get to your campus either walking or by bus.
East Reading is a part of town that is particularly popular with students. It is less than a mile from campus and close to the town centre. There is a vast range of student accommodation in this area, and you will be able to find something to suit your needs and budget. The town centre is another popular area with easy access to local shops, bar, restaurants and nightclubs but you will have to catch buses to your classes as it is over a kilometre from campus.
