Southampton; it’s home to a great university, vibrant nightlife, close to nature and just a short journey from the beach – what more could you want?
The University of Southampton is one of the top-ranked universities in the UK and has four campuses spread out across the city. The campuses are all beautiful with lush green spaces to enjoy in the summer and an attractive red brick building to admire as you stroll to class.
The main campus is next to Southampton Common’s – a 326-acre area of managed woodland. If you’re a nature lover it’s the perfect campus for you, with loads of vast green spaces to explore and a beautiful coastline to walk along just a short journey from campus.
The city is home to over 250,000 people of which 23,000 are students – this means the city has adapted to accommodate its student community well and there are loads of great bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs for you to choose from. As the town has so many students, many of the clubs, bars and pus have specific student nights or offer student prices and student discounts.
The Southampton Students’ Union is well known for playing host to high-profile DJs and bands. The facilities have also recently been redone and expanded to now include a substantial student-managed cinema and a 1,700 capacity nightclub.
