The city is home to over 250,000 people of which 23,000 are students – this means the city has adapted to accommodate its student community well and there are loads of great bars, restaurants, pubs and clubs for you to choose from. As the town has so many students, many of the clubs, bars and pus have specific student nights or offer student prices and student discounts.

The Southampton Students’ Union is well known for playing host to high-profile DJs and bands. The facilities have also recently been redone and expanded to now include a substantial student-managed cinema and a 1,700 capacity nightclub.

There is a fantastic UniLink bus service in the city that connects all four campuses with the city centre. No matter what part of the city you chose to make your home for the next few years you will always be able to get a smooth ride to campus. There are also excellent rail, air, road and sea links. The M3 links straight to London and by train the capital is just 1 hour and 20 mins away with trains running multiple times during the hour.
